Eclipse – Like Virginity, once lost …
ECLIPSE “Like Virginity, once lost …“
(for Roger Casement)
2007
Light sculptures A reflective convex steel calotte with changing light behind it creates a circular field of color around itself. Words in the handwriting of Irish anti slavery activist Sir Roger David Casement (1864–1916) are cut out, opening the view to the wall.
References are Jan Van Eyck’s Arnolfini Wedding (1434) and the visual metaphor of an “occultation” (eclipse).
